“Queen Of The Solent” Rescued in Dorset!

The one hundred and forty five year old Dolly Varden arrives at Kingfisher Marine’s workshops back in Dorset.
Having been so badly let down by the International Boatbuilding Training College (IBTC) all we want to do now is find a new way forward and forget all about them but for some reason they just love to keep pouring petrol on the fire. Meeting one of the trustees this morning I was told that they felt they owed us nothing as we had benefited from free storage for a year and in actual fact they never really were going to be able to restore Dolly and their CEO at the time who I had done the deal with shouldn’t have said they would.
Further to that I was told he had issued false promises to others not just me and the new trustees except no responsibility! Dolly Varden deserves better than this and the Solent folks have let her down for the last time.

  • This is such sad news as dolly was once our family home for over 8 yrs on the river Medway , after my dad tried to restore her and all ways tried to keep her stored safe and dry for many years , she was a huge part off our family for over 35 yrs and now knowing the IBTC have let everyone down really does question what will happen to the old girl now ????
